Is it just me or did you all also ask yourselves the following questions: What happened to the crisp and cool February air? How come I can no longer wear my light cardigans? Why is the sun sizzling at me? Has summer officially started??? That’s right, dolls. It seems like the 2016 Summer Season has begun.
We should consider ourselves blessed because our country has 7,107 islands which means we have over 1,000,000 kilometers of coastline. Okay, that’s not true – but we have around 36,000 kilometers which is not bad at all, right? 36,000 kilometers of coastline equals enough beaches to last our lifetime!
To properly welcome Summer 2016, my friends and I took a quick beach escapade to escape the stress of the city. We decided to take a mini-vacation in Batangas to relax and rejuvenate. My friends and I didn’t have concrete plans of what to do at the beach, but we had one rule: Leave the bad vibes in Manila. Trust me, with refreshing cold cocktails to welcome us after a quick two-hour drive, it was very easy to leave bad juju in the metro.
With hardly anything on our mind except to enjoy a relaxing weekend, my friends and I were able to enjoy each others’ company at a whole new level. Our conversations were more carefree and relaxed. Our laughter was contagious and hearty. Our spirits were high, soaring. What more, it was during this beach trip that I was able to try flyboarding for the first time. (Read more about it here.) Dolls, remember my New Year’s resolution of seeking more adventures and trying things for the first time? Consider watersports crossed off my bucket list.
R and R? Check. Adventure? Check. Hmmm… what else could have made my beach trip perfect? Girls will be girls, as they say, so my friends and I had an instantaneous fashion show of some sorts. We’re all beach junkies so looking our best while basking under the tropical sun is our expertise! My friends and I exchanged tips on how to stay super sexy without showing that much skin. And we all agreed that all of us ought to have the number one beach must-have this season: chic bikinis paired with vibrant and versatile cover-ups!
(Just between us dolls, I’m cooking up something chic and sexy at the KANDI Treats HQ. KANDI Treats is coming out with new cover-ups and scarf dresses in fresh new designs that you will all surely adore! But it’s our little secret, so watch this space for more information on that. **wink**)
A gay friend of mine has this gay beach mantra: Sand on my feet, wind in my hair, leave all my worries, I just don’t care. During the two short days I was with the company of dear friends, it became my mantra, too. I was able to relax, to go take an adventure, to bond with my girls, to laugh and to experience life. It was a break that I am thankful to have taken. Now isn’t that what we call bliss?
Wishing you dolls a blissful summer!
